Wendy Hirschberg Clurman started her career at Seventeen Magazine in 1987, rising to Market Director during her tenure with the publication. In 1993, Wendy joined Vogue as Senior Market Editor, covering the young designer market; within two years, her position expanded to include the entire American market. Appointed to Market Director in 1997, she led the Fashion Department and oversaw all American and European designers.
In January 2000, she was promoted to Fashion Director (Market), reporting directly to Anna Wintour. Each season, Clurman attended the New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion shows: analyzing the runway trends and forecasting future seasons. She then built compelling and insightful fashion stories, working side-by-side with Vogue stylists. Clurman also played a key role collaborating with designers as they prepared for upcoming collections— introducing new silhouettes and approaches to styling.
Clurman established her own business as a freelance Fashion consultant in September 2002, working with designers to develop concise, polished, well-focused collections, predicting trends, styling shows, and more. Some of her clients included: Theory, Martin and Osa, Magaschoni, Nili Lotan, Est ée Lauder, Anne Klein, Kors by Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, Ellen Tracy, Talbots, Matthew Williamson and Alice Roi.
In February 2012, Wendy joined The Jones Group as VP, Fashion Director for the Jones New York brand under the helm of CCO Stefani Greenfield to guide the brand style evolution in partnership with Creative Director Jeffrey Thorpe.
